The deadline has closed, and we have 5 entries for the Arena design contest!
(see: http://www.buxville.net/xf/threads/contest-design-and-build-a-mob-arena.28249/)
There is now a new platform created next to the Wizard tower in Bux. You can port to the 5 entries and take a look.
You may vote on multiple Arenas, if you strongly prefer 1 of them, it would make sense to only vote for that one, if you are in doubt, then vote on multiple Arenas. Admins can vote as well of course, but we'll also do an inspection ourselves, and combine that, with the results of this poll, into a final result.
The plan is to import the top 3 Arenas into the Arena World, where I will install them for actual use in Mob Arena!

Based on player feedback, I am re-adding a version of the Bux 2.0 /shop back into the game, but hopefully in a more balanced and also fun way.
The Bux Shop is spread over a collection of sign shops, which can be placed by an admin. Towns (r4+) as well as Shopkeepers (lvl5+) get a limited number of these shops. Traders (lvl 3+) can sell items at these shops, and of course are expected to buy items from players to sell as well.
I have also moved the Shop Ad perk from lvl 5 down to lvl 4, and added a new bribe to change/move a Bux Shop sign.
In line with the player feedback, I am increasing the delay on Shop Quest delivery. The Bux Shop should compensate for any possible income loss, and it will drastically lower the pressure on players to constantly deliver these SQs. It should also lessen the number of animals required to keep up with animal SQs, which is healthier for the server.

I had time available today to update us to 1.4, so we have some fun new toys to play with
- Anvils are disabled (we've discussed this and currently there's sadly no way to balance these, even as high-end feature)
- Item Frames are available for all as vanilla feature, Show cases are still different and possibly better, and thus remain a Shopkeeping perk for now.
- New crops will also need light to grow as the older crops do.
- Baked potatoes will have a use for Husbandry pets (coming soon).
- Wither spawning should work correctly in those areas that allow mob spawning.
- Invis potions work, but if you move/rotate, the Invis effect is removed. Omera Lvl 4 can move while staying invisible in Ether and Islands (still not in Nether).
I think that's about it for now, the Pets feature for Husbandry should be coming alive soon, hopefully today. Combat's compass tracking should be back this week hopefully.
I am still moving, so yes, there's still many things that need work for Bux...

If you haven't been following the news, you may have missed it, but for the first time in Buxville's history (nearly 2 years now), we have gone for a full wipe and revamp!
Gone is the majestic (but now copied by many) Caste system, replaced with a more flexible and powerful new system: Roles! (wiki: http://www.buxville.net/xf/wiki/Roles/). Ultimately, you will be able to reach Lvl 5 in ALL of the 18 Roles, but that will be a long and challenging road!
A lot of the information on our forum and wiki will need to be changed over the coming days/weeks. I have been working hard on getting ready for the launch, documentation has fallen behind
All Worlds, Isles, Ranks, Accounts, everything was wiped, so this is the ideal chance for you to make a fresh start. The entire Lux system is gone, most of its perks are now integrated with the Roles. Donations have, obviously, not been wiped, and Donor perks are mostly unchanged, new is: Animated Hats, Isles at 30+ (replacing Vaults),...
